.berlin FAQ

One of the contacts (Registrant, Admin) must have a valid address in Berlin (no P.O. boxes). Domain name shall be in use within 12 months, content shall be related to eligibility. A domain name must be put into use within 12 months of registration. All Registrants that register a .berlin domain name need to comply with the .berlin registration requirements published here.

Some domain names may be permanently or temporarily reserved or restricted for registry operations, as premium domain names or to comply with ICANN requirements.

To comply with ICANN requirements, all two-character domains shall be initially reserved, however may be released in the future. In addition reserved names for a) International Olympic Committee, b) International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and c) Intergovernmental Organizations, for new gTLDs., are not available in accordance with ICANN. Exclusively use by members of the .BERLIN Community which are natural persons, legal persons, organizations or associations of cpr144449003101 persons, if they can demonstrate an ecomic, cultural, historical, social or any other connection to the German capital Berlin.

The registry retains the right, at its own discretion, to check the registration of domains as well as the authorization to register. If the details that the registrant supplied during registration are incomplete and do not allow a check to be made, the registry will inform the registrant as well as the responsible registrar. Failure to comply with the conditions of registration, may result in deletion of the domain name.
