What name can I register?

DOMAIN NAME CHOICE.

Customer represents that, to the best of the Customer’s knowledge and belief, the registration, renewal or transfer of the domain name, and the manner in which it is directly or indirectly used, will not infringe upon the legal rights of a third party, and that the domain name is not being registered, renewed or transferred for any unlawful purpose.

The following formats are accepted as a SL Domain name:
EDU.SL is limited for educational organizations in Sierra Leone, or educational organizations that have local representation in the country.
GOV.SL is reserved for local government entities and organizations. Registration requires a signed authorization letter from the Minister of Information Office.
NET.SL is not enforced, but encouraged to be registered by network related companies such as ISPs, cable companies etc.
ORG.SL is not enforced, but encouraged to be registered by non-profit organizations.
COM.SL and .SL are for commercial and general use, and fully open for registrations.

INDECENCY: Domain names that promote or praise hatred, violence, child pornography, racial or religious intolerance will be rejected. Registry reserves the right to refuse to register cpr144449003101 any domain name that may be deemed in the sole discretion of Registry to be in any way indecent or offensive, politically, ethnically, sexually, or otherwise.

Customer represents that, to the best of the Customer’s knowledge and belief, the registration, renewal or transfer of the domain name, and the manner in which it is directly or indirectly used, will not infringe upon the legal rights of a third party, and that the domain name is not being registered, renewed or transferred for any unlawful purpose.

Internet reserved names such as company, example, icann, ripe, www, root-servers and more are not valid.

Customer agrees that the reservation, registration, renewal or transfer of a domain name by Registry shall not confer immunity upon Customer from objection to the reservation, registration, renewal or transfer, or to from objection to Customer’s use of the domain name.

Customer agrees that if a third party challenges the reservation, registration, renewal or transfer of Customer’s domain name, Customer shall be subject to the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp.htm). Customeragrees that in the event a domain name dispute arises with any third party, Customer shall indemnify and hold Registry harmless pursuant to the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Policy.

Registry at any time may refuse, cancel or revoke any registration for which Customer has provided false information.
